When a friend announces they are expecting, I am always filled with exciting ideas of what to make, sew and knit for the new arrival. However, with usually at least 6 months notice I tend towards complacency, leading to a frantic amount of crafting once the baby is born!!

So you can imagine my surprise (although not as surprised as the soon to be parents) when said baby arrives 3 weeks early!

Cue frantic knitting!!

My go to baby pattern is ‘Linnie’ by Justyna Lorkowska (Lete’s Knit). Available free on Ravelry here. It’s a lovely quick knit using any available 4py, knitted from the top down with a garter stitch yoke and stocking stitch body and sleeves.  It’s a fab way to use up those left over scraps from shawls and socks too.

I used Sirdar Snuggly in lovely rich green and cosy cream colours.

Little Leprechaun (462)

Cream (303)

And off it goes to its brand new owner!

I am planning on making a few more and having them in reserve to avoid more frantic knitting in the future…

Thanks for popping by
