They have their own facebook page – here where they post updates on latest stock aquisitions and news.

Gondola MKAL

A MKAL (Mystery knit-a-long) with a difference by the wonderfully talented Anniken Allis (@yarnaddictanni on social media and Ravelry).

Photo from Anniken Allis pattern page.

When the lead in details for the Gondola project were first released on Instagram I was intrigued, a knit-a-long where the designer is literally designing as you go via her Periscope videos and blog posts!

I have knitted one of Anniken’s shawls before…

So I knew I was in for a treat! But then summer holidays and an unexpected trip to Wales to see the family almost scuppered my knitting plans. But undeterred, I signed up for the updates and promised myself I would complete the shawl at some point if not as soon as hoped.

Then a chance encounter with a beautiful ball of Schoppel Wolle yarn from Clare Wools in Aberystwyth and my knitting hopes were back on track!

Knitted in between hospital visits and trips to the beach, I soon caught up the two days that I missed and was enjoying every minute of it. The yarn is super soft and the colour changes certainly keep you interested, that coupled with the intricate lace pattern made for a great knit. There was plenty of time between clues to make sure you can keep up, and lots of help and advice on the Ravelry group page.

I couldn’t wait for the last installment on blocking and went ahead and blocked it free-stylee!?! I hope Anniken approves 🙂

And here it is, all blocked and ready for cooler weather. This lovely knit will be winging its way to my gorgeous mum by the end of the week!

I will definitely take part in a MKAL again, it was so much fun!

Thank you Anniken Allis (Yarn Addict Anni) for a great knitting experience!

You can find more information about Anniken and her designs on Ravelry and all manners of social media just search for Yarn Addict Anni.

As always, thanks for popping by,

Love Happy Thimble xx
